Philosophy
To establish a love of music and creative expression in all students through improvisation, composition, and a confident understanding of classical technique. Students are encouraged to lean into their unique approach to music and chase their own personal goals.
Making the most of your lessons
The most important thing is that your student is eager to learn! With that being said, there are a few additional things that can help make music lessons truly rewarding. The first is a commitment to practicing regularly. Parents and students are encouraged to work together to implement a practice routine that is conducive to their personal schedule and priorities.
Another thing that will help your student is a clean, focused space that is conducive to practicing their instrument. I also recommend that you invest in quality instruments that will set the student up for success. These do not necessarily have to be expensive options, and if you are in want of violin or keyboard recommendations, please feel free to reach out!

There are a few guidelines set in place to ensure your child’s safety: -For at-home lessons, I ask that the lesson takes place in an open area, not in the child’s bedroom. If space is limited and that is the best option, I ask that the bedroom door be kept open.
-Please also be sure that students are properly clothed for all at-home and virtual lessons. Though I understand the convenience for families with small children, I ask that students do not wear pajamas during lessons. To ensure cyber safety, I will close a virtual meeting immediately and notify their guardian if a student is not properly clothed during a zoom lesson.
-If the parent/guardian of the student is not home during the time of the lesson, I need to be informed of the parent/guardian’s absence with written permission for me to proceed with the scheduled lesson.
-I will always ask a child’s permission first before making physical contact. Examples of this include readjusting hand position on instrument, high fives, or appropriate hugs.
-For the safety of your student, all Zoom meetings will be password protected.
-Please inform me of any allergies, so I can plan accordingly. Sometimes I may bring small treats to lessons or the recital, and I want your student to feel both safe and included!
